Mr. Rahman joined Lafarge Surma Cement Limited (Currently LafargeHolcim Bangladesh Limited) in 2003 as the Legal Counsel. He became Head of Legal & Company Secretary in 2008, and holding the present position since April 2015.
After completing LL.B. (Hons) and LL.M. from Dhaka University, in 1993 Mr. Rahman got enrolled with the Bangladesh Bar Council as an Advocate. He started his career as a practicing Advocate before the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. In 1995, Mr. Rahman was awarded prestigious Chevening Scholarship by the British Council, Dhaka. With this scholarship he completed Commonwealth Young Lawyers Course organized by the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. After returning from UK, Mr. Rahman decided to persuade his career as an In-house Legal Professional. In 1996, he joined in the Legal Department of Unilever Bangladesh. Before joining Lafarge Surma Cement Ltd. for six years he worked in the Legal Departments of various Oil & Gas sector companies including two years as Head of Legal of Shell Bangladesh Exploration & Development B.V.
