One step ahead for a zero waste future: Launching of Geocycle inBangladesh

A zero-waste future is what we need. The Geocycle launching event of LafargeHolcim marked the assurance of that. Geocycle is a waste management service currently offered in 50 countries all over the world under LafargeHolcim Group. They offer sustainable waste management service.

The Geocycle was chosen as the dedicated brand identity for all waste management activities in the LafargeHolcim Group. Geo means ‘earth’ in Greek. Cycle evokes recycling. But it also suggests a larger process – the regenerative cycle in nature where waste materials are the foundation for creating new life.

The launching program was held at hotel Le Meridian Dhaka followed by a cultural event on November 29, 2017. Deputy Minister of Environment & Forest Mr. Abdullah Al Islam Jakob, MP attended as the Chief Guest of the event. Higher Authorities from DoE, representative from different multinational & local companies, Development Agencies & officials from LafargeHolcim Bangladesh were among the participants.

Chee Yin Liew, Head of Geocycle, South East Asia also addressed the audience and explained how Geocycle is serving in other countries in the region (Malaysia, Indonesia & Philippines) by developing innovative solutions and approaches to waste management.
